Our Story
A Pub Reborn with Nepalese Heart
The Railway is a historic station-side pub that has served the Whittlesey community for generations. Located directly opposite Whittlesea Railway Station, we've long been a welcoming landmark for locals and travelers alike.
In 2021, Subodh Gautam, Ravi Acharya, and Purna Man Bajracharya acquired The Railway with a vision to blend “the warmth of a traditional British pub with the vibrant flavors and hospitality of Nepal.”
After a brief closure for refurbishment, The Railway reopened on 30 August 2022 with a completely new offering: alongside the familiar bar and community feel, a full Nepalese restaurant menu was introduced. The result was an instant hit – locals embraced having a family-friendly pub with great beer, live sports, and momos on the menu.
